2 x cushion, two up with rear leg lift (hold)


Benefits

  • Improves leg strength
  • Improves balance

Procedure

  • Use 2 x cushions and guide your dog up
  • Lift the left rear leg whilst standing on their right side and hold (up to 10 seconds if they allow you)
  • Repeat, treat as needed
  • Swap sides so you stand on the left and lift the right leg

Special Note:

  • Make sure the cushions don't slip 
  • Hold their hock with their paw facing forward, don't rotate the leg
  • If they are resisting and want to put their leg down it can mean that they are fatiguing or it is getting sore.  Allow a rest as needed. 
  • As you practice you should see that they can sustain the rear leg lift longer and in better form.
